    This is a beauty... an antique lidded butter dish with charming cow finial, removable chiller plate, and leaf engravings. Plate your ice below the plate and your butter on top, then cover. I believe this was silver plate at one time, but it has been used over the century and presents like a pewter at this point. It looks just lovely. No discernible markings. Approximately 7 inches to the top of the cow.
