    Description

    American Bisque ABCo
    Vintage 8" Footed Planter
    Yellow-Green
    with
    Scalloped Rim
I'm not sure this cute planter is by American Bisque (I thought perhaps Brush when I first found it), but the 3 raised rounded unglazed feet seem to indicate a likely ABCo connection. I've also dithered about the wonderful mid-century mod glaze color: Is it yellow, or is it green? I see that my photos mostly show it in a more yellow light, but there is a definite hint of chartreuse green in it!
The planter measures 8 inches wide across the rim and 4.5 inches deep at the center of the rim. It sits 4 inches high at the ends of the oval shape. The footed base has a pretty embossed design, the the ribbed sides are scalloped around the rim. It is in good condition (no cracks or crazing), but I can find 2 very small glaze flakes (shallow chips) on one end, where the clay under the glaze is a bit rough (see closeup photo with red arrows).
    The bottom is not marked.
